Spring Frost: A 5E Adventure

With a pitchfork in your hand, the spring sun warming your skin and the fragrance of the first flowers, it is a peaceful, routine day in your native village, Vilstregh. This is where you learned the rudiments of life, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the big cities and other villages, here in the heart of nature, at the foot of the Hermines Mountains. Your life is punctuated by the daily tasks required to keep your community running smoothly, and by the rare merchants who offer you the chance to purchase items and resources exotic to your environment.

Like every morning, you were stacking hay for the cattle when an unusual crowd of people made you leave your task. The village chief's daughter, Urielle, a childhood friend, had fallen ill a few days ago, and her condition had suddenly worsened. Other villagers were also beginning to show similar symptoms, unknown to Irma, our healer. It all looked very much like the beginnings of an epidemic, threatening the survival of your community...

Spring Frost is a 22 pages low-prep role-playing module based on the adventure of a group of young villagers leaving their community for the first time, in search of the key to its survival. Without mastery of magic, it is your courage and humanity that will decide your success.

Designed for a medieval fantasy world, this one-shot will fit in well with role-playing games of this genre, especially 5th Edition with which it is compatible. A few pages also feature basics rules, allowing you to play Spring Frost with no previous role-playing experience.

With a running time of around 2 hours, it can also be used for evenings with friends, or to introduce new players to the incredible world of role-playing!

Spring Frost is therefore an accessible one-shot for beginner players and game masters. It is perfect for a group of 1-5 players, and its difficulty can easily be increased with an included setting for more experienced groups.
